How to get to Sanremo
The best airport to arrive at is Nice. From here you can hire a car, get a taxi or take the train to Sanremo and the surrounding areas.
Avoid taking a taxi from the rank of the airport- this will cost you around €200 to Sanremo. You can book your transfer with us for €100.
If you want to get the train to Sanremo, check the train times for your landing. Google transport tends to suggest taking a bus to Nice Ville but this can be tricky with a bike bag and costs €6 per person. The benefit is you cut out a 15 minute walk which can be really hot in the summer.
We suggest the following for public transport:
Get to Terminal 1 of Nice airport. (If you arrive at terminal 2, take the free shuttle departing every few minutes)
From Terminal 1 walk 15 minutes to Nice St. Augustin train station, the route is marked but pay attention as they are currently working on the route and some signs can be missing. You should find most people walking this way are heading to the station.

From Nice St. Augustin station there are some trains that will go all the way through to Sanremo but mostly you have to change at Ventimiglia. Tickets should be around €12 each.
While the train connection time in Ventimiglia can look sensible, unfortunately, the trains can often be delayed by just enough to miss the connection. This is especially important to take into account when you are returning to the airport!
If you are staying in Dolceacqua, Isolabona or Apricale, there are regular buses from Ventimiglia for just a couple of euros.
